Joel Samuel Polack

Joel Samuel Polack was a prominent English-born businessman and writer who made significant contributions to the literary and commercial landscape of New Zealand and the United States. Born in 1807, Polack embarked on a journey to New Zealand in 1831, becoming one of the first Jewish settlers in the region. His experiences and observations during this period would later inform his writing, establishing him as a respected authority on pre-colonial New Zealand.
